Hey You Edwards Losers

Fri Jan 11, 2008 at 09:21:14 AM PDT

I usually see one or more diaries like this in the list, but none right now, so I’ll try and fill the void. Most of these are usually a little more subtle than my title, but the message is the same, and the elicited comments are frequently worse. Reading one of these is sadly similar to listening to taunts from the fans of an opposing football team. I wish our pride and our chance at going to state were the only things at stake in this election.

I’m an Edwards supporter. I’m still an Edwards supporter. I will continue to be an Edwards supporter. There seems to be a common (but not universal) opinion here those who continue to support Edwards are:

  1. Stupid
  1. Insane
  1. Traitors to the Democratic Party
  1. Third party moles (all of the above)

Rather than addressing the above in one of the hourly "We’re Number 1!" diaries via comment, I thought I’d use economy of scale and do it once here. Plus, it’ll prevent me from losing it again and telling someone to shove it. Sorry about that.

An O'Reilly Christmas

Sat Dec 22, 2007 at 09:26:46 PM PDT

Just a brief post to show what I found splattered across several of the news groups today. Bill O's counterattack on the War on Christmas is going well, and the folks are zealously defending the birth date of the Savior and the Prince of Peace.

Al Gore and the Bully Pulpit

Wed Oct 24, 2007 at 07:05:48 AM PDT

Sounds like the title of a Hardy Boys or Tom Swift novel, doesn’t it?

Many of the Al will-he-or-won’t-he diaries and associated comments posted lately propose a dilemma: Al will have to forego his environmental activism for his presidential duties if elected. I disagree. One aspect of Al's possible run I haven’t seen discussed (and feel free to smack me if it has, and I’ll delete this) is the power of the bully pulpit. More below.

Is He a Danger to Himself or Others?

There’s a lot of disappointment and anger over the Dems "backing down" on deadlines in Iraq, as shown by the number of diaries during the last couple of days. I’ve tended to swing between feelings of rage, disgust and futility whenever I’ve thought about it. However, a diary last Monday
**** the Dems. That's it. I'm done by theyrereal started me thinking about why incredibly smart and politically astute people like Pelosi and Reid seem to be pulling their punches on Iraq.

More unsubstantiated, unsolicited, and uncompensated opinion from a first-time diarist below.
