If Obama Could Play Guitar

Fri Jul 11, 2008 at 10:38:14 PM PDT

It would sound like this:

Hillary gets new endorsement (sorta)

Sat Dec 15, 2007 at 04:10:58 AM PDT

Who?

Mister Full deck himself, Ace of Spades.

The fiscal conservatives are cracking up over Huckabee.  I figured they would, but here's what I didn't expect.

Not that what one blogger thinks matters that much, but if Huckabee gets the nomination, I'm voting Democratic. It's not just an idle threat; I just won't vote for him and in fact won't even vote third party or stay home. I'll vote for the Democratic candidate, even Hillary. I won't be a party to selling out everything the party is supposed to stand for to a liberal ideology. If we're going to have eight years of liberal rule, I'd rather the Democratic Party be governing, so at least they can take the blame.

And, quite frankly, Hillary is to the right of Huckabee on most issues, if only because she's politically afraid to do the kind of crap Huckabee does and dream of doing at night. She couldn't afford to be as soft as Iran as Huckabee would.

And I don't think I'm alone on this.

Ain't that freaky?

With all due respect Ms. Clinton

Wed Nov 28, 2007 at 12:30:49 PM PDT

are you fucking kidding me?

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has been talking for some time now about how, if she is elected president, she will ask both Democratic and Republican statesmen to hit the road on her behalf to declare that "bipartisan foreign policy is back" in post-George W. Bush America.

While Mrs. Clinton has pointed to her husband as an emissary, it has been unclear for some time which Republicans she had in mind. But in South Carolina today, speaking to a group of black ministers, Mrs. Clinton dropped a name publicly that she has hinted at privately before.

"I won’t even wait until I’m inaugurated, but as soon as I’m elected I’m going to be asking distinguished Americans of both parties — people like Colin Powell, for example, and others — who can represent our country well, including someone I know very well," Mrs. Clinton said, according to a Fox News Web report. "Because I want to send a message heard across the world. The era of cowboy diplomacy is over."

What's next?  Jayson Blair for press secretary?

I will not vote for Hillary in the General Election

Sun Aug 26, 2007 at 07:17:16 PM PDT

There.  I said it.

I will not vote for Hillary Clinton in the general election. No matter what. I'm trying the idea on for size anyway and really it feels pretty good.

Those who have not skipped directly to troll rating my tip jar may be wondering why I would take such a seemingly destructive position, one that is contrary to my own self-interest.

Broken: Global Warming: 1 Nuke Plant: 0

Sat Aug 18, 2007 at 08:27:59 AM PDT

This was just posted on slashdot:

According to this AP story posted in the Houston Chronicle:

ATHENS, ALA.  The Tennessee Valley Authority shut down one of three units at the Browns Ferry nuclear plant Thursday because water drawn from a river to cool the reactor was too hot, a spokesman said.

The nation's largest public utility shut down Unit 2 about 5:42 p.m. CDT because water drawn from the Tennessee River was exceeding a 90-degree average over 24 hours, amid a blistering heat wave across the Southeast.

"We don't believe we've ever shut down a nuclear unit because of river temperature," said John Moulton, spokesman for the Knoxville, Tenn.-based utility.

Isn't the future something?

Dear Senator

Dear Senator.

I'm really pissed off.

Regardless of the fact that I am not one of your constituents, I raised money for your 2006 campaign by selling my cats into slavery.  Your state is one of the square ones right?  The sacrifice was painful, but it was one I was willing to make having read on DailyKos that you support perpetual motion and perpetual motion is a goal that we on DailyKos all agree must happen right now, no matter what.

Senator, I don't know what to say.  It's now seven months into your term and we have no perpetual motion machine.  I am so distressed.  I will never vote for another democrat again.

Honestly, the Greens look like a much better option than the democrats anyway.  According to someone on My Left Wing, the Green Party platform promises both perpetual motion and flight for pigs.

I'm so thankful for the blogs.  Without them I'd never know the truth of American political reality.

yours,
Somebody Else's Constituent

FOXNews.com Sicko review: "brilliant and uplifting"

Sat May 19, 2007 at 12:14:33 PM PDT

This is unexpected
FOXNews

Filmmaker Michael Moore's brilliant and uplifting new documentary, "Sicko," deals with the failings of the U.S. healthcare system, both real and perceived. But this time around, the controversial documentarian seems to be letting the subject matter do the talking, and in the process shows a new maturity.

Unlike many of his previous films ("Roger and Me," "Bowling for Columbine," "Fahrenheit 9-11"), "Sicko" works because in this one there are no confrontations. Moore smartly lets very articulate average Americans tell their personal horror stories at the hands of insurance companies. The film never talks down or baits the audience.

ACTION: Ann Coulter's Advertisers: Let's do this right

Mon Mar 05, 2007 at 09:51:16 PM PDT

Here is what is needed to track all the ads on anncoulter.com.  This is all visible via "view source" on her web page.  I've quoted what's in the source of her web page to keep the "evidence" in tact. No fancy tools or hacking is required to get at this information.  You just have to know what you're looking at.

This is a much more direct approach than trying to contact individual advertisers who often don't even know where their ads will end up when they pay for advertising.

For starters, she is likely in violation of google adsense policies.  I can't stomach enough of the woman to go picking through the site to find offending content, but I bet somebody out there can do it.
