AP Misrepresents Michelle Obama-please read
Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 03:11:29 PM PDT
Remember the "first time [really] proud of country" flap?
Remember how MSNBC deliberately clipped out the word "really," giving the quote a very different meaning? Well now the AP is doing the same thing, intentionally or not:
OMG, Why Clinton Lost, w/poll--updated for semantic accuracy...
Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 06:22:04 AM PDT
Am I crazy? I ask not because my own notion wasn't reflected in yesterday's "Why Clinton Lost" stories, but because I could've sworn that lots of, if not most kossacks, shared my ideas of why Clinton lost. For God's sake, it was the Iraq War vote, wasn't it?
What I just wrote to Senator Byrd, D-WV
Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 12:07:04 PM PDT
Sure this is late, but I've been traveling and offline for weeks:
I urge Obama supporters to thank Senator Robert Byrd for endorsing Obama.
Kossacks: Are you getting complacent?
Fri May 09, 2008 at 01:15:32 PM PDT
I realize most DKos readers are for Obama, but I'm not yet taking a break from trying to convince actual voters to support him. So if you agree with my theme below, and know people in the remaining primary states, share this with them:
Obama knew it would be hard to get out of Iraq; it's part of why he opposed going in! FORTUNATELY,
Two new song suggestions for the Obama campaign! w/poll (shamelessly)
Tue May 06, 2008 at 07:16:22 PM PDT
Okay, no way on earth should it replace "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," but maybe add to the rotation as maybe the third or fourth song after a speech "One World" by The Police? Check out the lyrics at the end:
I don’t want to bring a sour note
Remember this before you vote
We can all sink or we all float
’cos we’re all in the same big boat
One world is enough
For all of us
It may seem a million miles away
But it gets a little closer everyday
One world...
One world...
For fence-sitters: THE DIFFERENCE between Obama and HRC
Sun May 04, 2008 at 04:23:26 PM PDT
If you like this theme, please share it with any undecideds you might know. First, the short version:
No matter what you, I, or the most hawkish neocons think of our involvement in Iraq, withdrawal from Iraq is probably going to get onto the national agenda under the next president, whoever it may be.
In order to leave Iraq in the most stable condition possible, we are going to need other countries to contribute. The next president should be one most capable of recruiting that help.
Right or wrong, Barack Obama did speak out more forcefully than the other candidates against invading in the first place. For that, he is the most likely to command the international respect and goodwill necessary to help Iraq find stability.
One final talking point for PA fence-sitters
Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 08:19:12 AM PDT
If you like the point I make and you know any PA voters who are on the fence, please share it with them graciously.
To get out of Iraq honorably, other countries are going to have to work with us more. Obama is the most likely to inspire them to contribute. Explained:
Where in PA will Obama volunteers do the most good?
Wed Apr 16, 2008 at 08:11:20 AM PDT
I am definitely going to volunteer in Eastern PA this weekend for Obama, but I need help deciding where I'll do the most good, among three places:
- Philly (I'd go wherever the main office told me to go)
- Doylestown
- Allentown
(To others considering volunteering: this is NOT to say those are the only places worth volunteering! They're just the places that I know how to get to.)
AP says Pennsylvania wants SAFE Iraq exit. Obama is better:
Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 12:18:19 PM PDT
The Associated Press says that patriotic Pennsylvania want the next President to get the U.S. out of Iraq, but responsibly:
To get out of Iraq safely and responsibly, we're going to need help from other countries. Because he did not help enable the war to start, and in fact spoke out against it even starting, Obama is the most likely to command international goodwill and recruit that help.
Obama's campaign asked us to write these.
Mon Mar 03, 2008 at 10:04:22 AM PDT
A couple weeks ago, in response to supporters asking how they could help, the Obama campaign e-mailed supporters asking for personal statements about our individual reasons for supporting Obama. Here's mine. If you think any undecided Dems in OH, TX, RI, or VT might like the story, please rec it and/or copy it and share it.
Some ego I have to say that, sure, fine, but it is Election Eve, and I want to do what I can:
Sorry, Shame on Who?
Sat Feb 23, 2008 at 10:12:43 PM PDT
Clinton, whose campaign may have benefitted from those mysterious robo-calls in Nevada (which repeated "Barack Hussein Obama" several times) the night before that state's caucuses, should probably not throw around the Karl Rove label too freely.
New York Times cannot resist its HRC Bias
Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 07:02:22 AM PDT
To my memory, this is the only time I have ever bothered making the "bias" accusation about a news organization.
Reminder of $5.01 donations to Obama tomorrow!
Mon Feb 11, 2008 at 11:48:33 AM PDT
Consider passing this on to friends who like Obama but don't normally donate to political campaigns.
"Naive." It doesn't always mean "wrong."
Tue Feb 05, 2008 at 08:51:56 AM PDT
Here is the most naive argument I can make in favor of Obama today. It's naive, and it's right.
Obama good on Transportation (& ergo environment)
Mon Feb 04, 2008 at 11:28:51 AM PDT
Something quick from the NY area "Tri-State Transportation Campaign."
What I Wrote to Barack Obama in 2006
Sat Feb 02, 2008 at 11:24:48 PM PDT
It's embarrassing for its naive tone, its liberal use of italics and boldface, and some misconceptions (foreign policy ideas; an implied prediction that Kerry would run again).
Nevertheless, after coming across it today while cleaning out some old papers and being reminded of those first rumbles of excitement I ever felt about a possible Obama run, I decided to post it--in all its vulnerably unedited glory. Enjoy:
A re-stating of reasons Obama's a better choice
Fri Feb 01, 2008 at 11:40:15 AM PDT
Here's why the past on Iraq really does matter, and why it really does make Obama the better candidate.
