OMG:Thomas Frank headlines WSJ op-ed page

'Scuse me Satan, does it usually get this cold here in Hell?
Today's Wall St. Journal(subscription), incredibly, has Thomas "What's the Matter with Kansas?" Frank on the top right side of the op-ed pages today. (!)
I shall try to keep within the "fair use" parameters.
The media flurry kicked up by Mr. Obama's gaffe powerfully confirms an argument I actually did make [in "Kansas"]: That as they return again to the culture war, what the soldiers on all sides are doing is talking about class without actually addressing the economic basis of the subject.
Note the "all sides." did that hurt, Hillary?
"Elitism" is ...a crime not of society's actual elite, but of its intellectuals...Ah, but Hillary Clinton: ... when the former first lady talks about her marksmanship as a youth, who cares about the cool hundred million she and her husband have mysteriously piled up since he left office? Or her years of loyal service to Sam Walton, that crusher of small towns and enemy of workers' organizations?
...
Here's the money quote:
Conservatism, on the other hand, has no problems with bitterness...the movement's job is to "organize discontent."...they welcome it, they have flattered it...there is a bitterness industry.
Frank, who is going to be a regular Wednesday columnist for the Journal (!), must be some sort of communist:
The landmark political fact of our time is the replacement of our middle-class republic by a plutocracy.
Do they plan to buy this guy off, or is this a kind of "make-up call" for the Times hiring Bill Kristol? I don't get it. I guess the idea is that there are rich liberals who might subscribe to the Journal. Are times that tough for Wall Street?
